SNOW!!!

I looked outside the window today and noticed the white, soft, fluffy flakes fluttering down from the heavens. Snow has arived and all out winter will be upon us before we know it. But before you pass over the winter months when setting that special date, keep in mind that winter can also be a great time to tie the knot! What is more romantic than a peaceful blanket of fresh powder?

We here at djay sound and light are looking forward to working with everyone at the Mississippi Dunes, The Mermaid, Sofitel Minneapolis Bloomington, Red Wing Country Club, Prestwick Golf Club and The St. Anthony Main this weekend. We are very lucky to have such partners in the business. The wedding season is slowly coming to an end and then once again we will be at the wedding fair in Minneapolis for The Twin City Bridal Association.

Wedding at The Ramada in Rochester Minnesota

Jay Brian Kochendorfer with djay sound and light had another wonderful crowd to entertain at the Ramada Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota. Dana and Jeremy were SO much fun to work with! All the vendors she had for the reception were just perfect. Erin Dunn was the photographer from Fine Exposures in Rochester www.fineexposures.com. Erin Dunn was amazing in many ways her work and her referral too us at djay souund and light to work with Dana Apelgrean and Jeremy Wright. Autumn Penz at the Ramada was in charge of all the arrangements and worked with the both of them very closely in the planning process. After events like this are done I often think how in the heck did we pull off such an awesome party and make the couple cry they were so happy? Talk about an awesome feeling of accomplishment. I will hopefully have photos to share with all soon. Wedding DJs


What are some advantages wedding DJs have over wedding bands? First of all, while bands are very limited in terms of the music they can play, wedding DJs can call upon a catalog of literally thousands of classics. In addition, bands need to take breaks between sets and they require a lot of logistical assistance. Wedding DJs, on the other hand, can set up and pack up rapidly, and they can play without taking breaks.

Yet perhaps the most compelling reason to choose a DJ over a band is that DJs tend to cost thousands of dollars less than bands. Moreover, when you choose a wedding band, you never know exactly what you're going to get. Unless you contract for specific musicians, for instance, band leaders can "switch out" of the gig at the last minute, leaving you high and dry. You'll never have that problem with wedding DJs.

Brooke Huppert and Tim Matzek-Brooke and Tim will be dancing to the beat of DJ Dan's Drum at The Grand in Stillwater,MN. Dan is one of our most experienced DJ's and will no doubt have the entire guest list on their feet!

Kelly Minea and Mike Trevenna- Kelly and Mike have the pleasure of having DJ Tommy B, our highest rated DJ, handling their party at the Mendakota Country Club in West St. Paul, MN. You can be sure that no stone will be left unturned with Tommy at the helm.
